Fall Outdoor Activities for Kids: Giant Bubbles and Glow-in-the-Dark Fun
There's something about the beginning of fall that makes me want everyone outside.
The weather starts cooling down.
The evenings get darker a little earlier.
And suddenly being in the backyard doesn't involve me reminding everyone to drink water every five minutes.
It's one of my favorite times of year for family time outside.
The only problem?
As soon as it starts getting darker, my kids seem to think that means it's time to head inside and find a screen.
Not so fast.
This fall, I'm bringing out the WOWmazing Space Edition.
Because giant bubbles are fun.
Giant bubbles with glow-in-the-dark space stickers as the sun starts going down?
Now you've got their attention.
3, 2, 1... Blast Off
The WOWmazing Space Edition takes the giant bubble play we already love and gives it a space-themed twist.
The kit comes with the giant bubble wands, two pouches of WOWmazing Bubble Concentrate, a Tips & Tricks booklet, and 8 glow-in-the-dark waterproof stickers.
We're talking shooting stars, rockets, and all the space fun kids love.
They can decorate their blue bubble wands with the stickers and then head outside to see their creations start to glow as the evening gets darker.
It's such a simple addition, but kids love anything that glows in the dark.
Honestly, so do adults.
Fall Is Still Outdoor Season
I think once summer ends, we automatically start thinking about indoor activities.
But some of the best outdoor family time happens in fall.
It's cooler.
The backyard feels different.
You can throw on a sweatshirt and stay outside until dinner.
And you don't need to plan some huge family activity.
Mix the bubble concentrate with water, grab the wands, and see who can make the biggest bubble.
That's it.
The Space Edition uses the same style of two-handle wand design behind some seriously enormous bubbles.
And once one of those giant bubbles starts floating across the backyard, everyone suddenly forgets what they were doing.
The kids chase it.
Someone tries to pop it.
Someone else immediately wants to make an even bigger one.
And before you know it, you've been outside together for an hour.
No screens required.
Let Them Stay Out a Little Longer
This might be my favorite part.
As the sun starts setting, the glow-in-the-dark stickers make the Space Edition feel completely different.
Instead of darkness ending playtime, it becomes part of it.
You can turn it into a little family challenge.
Who can make the longest bubble?
Who can make one float the farthest?
Can anyone create a bubble bigger than themselves?
No elaborate setup.
No itinerary.
Just everyone outside being ridiculous together.
Those are usually the nights my kids remember anyway.
Don't Pack Away Outdoor Play Just Yet
Summer ending doesn't mean outdoor play has to end with it.
Fall gives us this little window where the air is cooler, evenings feel cozy, and being outside together feels especially good.
The WOWmazing Space Edition fits right into that.
Giant bubbles for the kids.
Glow-in-the-dark stickers when the sun goes down.
And another excuse for the whole family to put the screens away and stay outside a little longer.
Because sometimes the best family nights aren't planned at all.
They start with a sweatshirt, a backyard, and someone saying, "Whoa, look at THAT bubble."
